Shraddha was born in Rajkot on October 15, 1994. Her father VasantBhai Dangar was in the Electrical field business and mother Bhavanaben was a homemaker. Shraddha has one brother and sister who are both younger than her. She completed her BE from the Marvadi University, Rajkot and schooling from School of Science, Parishram school and Parimal school.
Luck gave her a chance
In 2016 while she was pursuing her engineering, she had no plans on making a career in the entertainment industry. However, fate had other plans. There was an audition for a Gujarati film and her mother pushed per to enrol and at least give an audition as her mother knew, as a child she was good in drama and dance she could give acting a shot. As luck would have it, she got selected.
Showbiz – the ball starts rolling
Just for the lark she started doing character roles and she was still unsure on the path she would eventually choose. In 2017 Shraddha did an album with Darshan Raval . It was a huge success and a hit. From there on she got confident on her acting skills. She started enjoying it and also looked at it as a long-term career.
In some time, she bagged many other projects in films and with every new project she was learning and growing. She got “Hellaro” as a lead role film. It was a huge hit and made her life. It was now that the feeling of being an actor sunk in. Post Hellaro she got confident and the joy she derived from performing is the real award according to Shraddha.
Learning everyday
Her first movie is yet to release but it’s from there that she learnt the nuances of acting. Two more of her movies are in the shooting stage.
Shraddha has no godfather in this industry as her family is into business. She had to learn intricacies on her own, she was her own guide.
Support matters
Her parents and family were always attracted toward the acting field hence her choice was welcomed by all and as a supportive family they had given her the freedom to choose any career of her choice. Shraddha is very grateful to her parents for their support during her most critical times. In an industry where work comes in phases it’s important to keep giving auditions during work gaps so that it does not get you feeling low or depressed. She would give auditions in multiple languages, hence not limiting her scope of work.
As a young school student her Principal was sure Shraddha would make it to the big screen and gave her all the support for participation in cultural activities for the school.
Fate has a plan for everyone
Never having ever planned a career path, Shraddha believes in going with the flow from the beginning. She grabbed an opportunity in the beginning and today is rated amongst one of the best actors in the Gujarati film industry.
Her learning were from her observations around. She believes is giving a 100% with dedication and since she does not really have a role model, she is willing to learn from anyone giving a positive lesson. An open mind in every sense of the word.
Shraddha loves to watch the actors who are senior – like Pankaj Tripathi, Supriya Pathak, Neena Gupta etc. Age is only a number and what really matters is confidence in any role one does, not just for lead roles.
She has not done any course in acting or any technical related course, but has been a learner from her very first role or from the smallest of roles she has played. She also managed to learn the technical aspects of shooting with every new project.
She always had a passion for dancing but quit learning dancing because of studies. Dancing for roles comes easily to her, especially the traditional garba.
It’s challenging for an actor when locations change as per script and also if the actor is involved in multiple projects. Coping up is not easy but Shraddha is learning every day and is confident she will be able to tackle this challenging aspect of this profession too.
Hobbies outside film sets
During her free time she prefers an outdoor activity, like travelling, shopping etc. Movies and TV is also on her priority of things she loves. She realized before becoming an actor she would watch movies as an outsider but now she watches them from an actor’s perspective which is a huge difference for an individual, as looking for technical nuances comes to play.
Shraddha loves to play roles in reality films rather than dramatic films. She is ever grateful to her co-workers and seniors who helped her at every juncture.
No one can make or break you is her belief. Your success depends on yourself and there is nothing called failure. Its just a lesson to do better and excel the next time around. You should be your only competition.
Staying grounded
In the movie industry every actor has to face hits and flops. It’s important you do not change your lifestyle based on hits and in the bargain loose your identity. A high after a hit is temporary and its important to stay grounded. She believes being humble and not letting success get to your head, besides it is important and be good for yourself not for the views of society.
Shraddha is also doing theaters which she started in Ahmedabad in 2017. She feels its good for every actor to have a bit of theater experience.
Awards & accolades
Shraddha has won the National Film Awards for her film “Hellaro” as the Best Actress Special Jury award at the 66th National Film Awards.
