Nilaanjana J Chakraborty
Childhood days and the influence of family values
Nilaanjana J Chakraborty was born to a Jain family on December 7, 1963 in Patna. Her family was initially very conservative. Her paternal grandfather was the Eastern Railway director, while her maternal grandfather was the Western Railway director. Her mother is from Rajasthan, her father is from Up, and both come from a Jain family. Her father was a businessman who dealt with minerals before becoming a consultant. Her father has always been an honest man who runs his business with strict modest principles. Her father’s no-nonsense and honest approach to life has had a significant influence on her and her other two siblings. Her mother is a doting housewife. Her father’s business was in Kolkata, and her mother moved to the same city after they married.
During her childhood, they used to spend a lot of time in Ranchi during vacations because her paternal grandfather purchased a large bungalow in the city after he retired. It was the pinnacle of happiness for her when her grandparents came to visit their house in Kolkata. She was a student at Modern High School in Kolkata, and she had always been interested in Geography because of her grandfather. Her grandfather used to ask her to count the stations and remember the names whenever they took the train to Ranchi. Her father gave her a globe when she was very young, and she used to find countries and cities on it, as well as remember the capitals and languages. As a result, she developed a keen interest in Geography. Her parents used to take them to various wildlife sanctuaries when they were children, and she developed an interest in wildlife and nature as a result. Aside from academics, discipline and physical fitness were crucial in their lives. As members of a Jain family, they used to place a high value on food and eating on time. By the age of 13, she had been trained to run a household and had learned how to cook, dust, and clean.
Despite having an inter-caste marriage in which her husband is a Bengali and hardcore non-veg and she is veg, they have successfully balanced it with proper food and eating on time. They adhere to a strict policy of no binge eating and eating proper meals at proper times.

She then went on to Bhavans College of Communication and Management to earn a Post Graduate degree in Public Relations. Her high school and college teachers had a significant impact on her life. Teachers influenced them not just in school, but also in how they spoke, their exquisite fashion sense, grace, attitude toward life, and many other things. If she is ever asked to rate her teacher’s experience, she will give it an 11 out of 10.
She did a few freelance jobs after finishing her post-graduate studies before starting a full-time job. During her freelance career, she has worked as a public relations representative for the Bengal Chambers of Commerce, the International Trade Fair, and the South Asian Federation Game. They were taught how to communicate with guests, when to speak and when not to speak, how to deal with people, body language learning, and many other things during the training session. She met Ratan Tata during her hotel days, and he had a huge impact on her life. Her entire work at Taj Bengal has aided her in sharpening her life, and she is who she is today as a result of it.
Her interests in spirituality and Tarot Cards
She has always enjoyed reading about spirituality and metaphysics since she was a child. She had heard about tarot, but it was not widely used in India at the time. When Nilaanjana was in Mumbai for some work, she met an Israeli woman and was physically introduced to Tarot Cards. The lady explained to her the importance of numbers, as well as what tarot reading is and how it may affect people’s lives. She then went to Mumbai to take basic and advanced numerology training. She became qualified as a Healer after learning about different spiritual techniques such as Reiki, Pranic Healing, Switchwords, Energy Healing, Colour Therapy, and many others.
When she first learned about numbers, she discovered that she is number 7, and people with this number are always drawn to Esoteric Science, Philosophy of Life, and Spiritualism. She has been practicing Numerology, Healing, and Tarot Cards for over 30 years now. She doesn’t advertise it much because there are so many con artists that rely on it nowadays. She has a large number of clients, including several celebrities, and they all came about as a result of word-of-mouth publicity. She is a firm believer in confidentiality as well as a code of ethics, which she adheres to religiously. If following ethics causes her to lose business, she won’t mind because her clients’ secrets are most important to her and are kept safe with her.
Her life as a Jewellery Designer
She is an independent Jewellery Designer. She was Kolkata’s first jewellery designer to be featured by the press. She still has that drive. She is fascinated by antique jewellery and wishes to work on it more. She wants to bring a new collection and is just waiting for the right moment.

Nilaanjana is not a party animal; she would rather stay at home and spend quality time with her family. She prefers to call her close friends who live in different cities or countries. She enjoys her life in her own unique way by reading many books, cooking favourite dishes of her husband and daughter, watching movies, and conducting extensive research.
Her motto in life
She wishes to make a positive difference in people’s lives. The best thing she can do is change the way things are done in order to create a better tomorrow. There is no limit to what she can learn, and she is eager to learn more about life and people.
