Her family and her inspiration for being an actress
Netri Trivedi, who was born on June 22nd, 1994, in Ahmedabad, has always been drawn to the arts, mostly as a result of her theatrically talented parents. Her father is a working actor. He most recently appeared in the film “Om Managalam Singalam” where he played the father of the lead actor – Malhar Thakar. Her mother has been an actress for many years and currently works on a few different projects. Netri is very proud of her family’s career, and she considers herself fortunate to have an aunt like Roopa Diwetia, who is also a theatre performer. Since childhood, she has been exposed to theatre and live performances in this manner. She grew up in that setting and considers herself fortunate to have received regular workshop-style training from family members involved in the acting industry.
Her journey towards acting
Netri participated in a school youth festival, auditioned for a drama, and was selected. Someone asked her for a second drama, which she accepted to do and continued getting more drama works. Later on, she was given the opportunity to audition for a film. Tapan Vyas directed the film, which was titled ‘Paaghdi’. She was on her college vacation when she auditioned, and she completed the shot as part of her vacation or after college activities. She never imagined that acting would be her future profession. It was unfortunate that the film’s release date was delayed for nearly three years.
In between her next vacation, Abhishek Shah, the casting director of “Chhello Divas” approached her for an audition and because it was vacation time and term was coming to an end. She decided to audition, and Krishnadev Yagnik approved and invited her to join the workshop and film.
During that time, she was certain that she was only working on it as a hobby and not as a job. She was seriously considering a career in filmmaking and writing. However, she began to receive nice acting opportunities over time, and acting piqued her interest. She has begun to seriously consider acting as a career choice.
Her parents were always constructive in their assessment of her work. That consistent feedback always aided her in making continuous progress.
Netri as an actress
Netri always believes in no huge plans; she feels that whatever she and everyone else get is all about fate. However, she is working hard to gain a variety of acting roles.
Her performance in the film “21 mu tiffin” was meaningful to her because it was about a teenage girl, her feelings, and her relationship with her mother. She acquired a lot of confidence after that film. She was confident that she can play lead roles. Her performance was well received. She considers rejection to be significant as well.
She believes in learning acting from others. She sometimes thinks she could have done this character too when she sees others do great roles. She sometimes believes that the choices we make do not always result in self-satisfaction. When such circumstances occur, we all need to reflect more on ourselves before taking a decision. She has always held the view that failures serve as valuable life lessons and aid in determining one’s course of action.
She sometimes watches herself as an audience to better her acting. She used to seek advice from genuine connections. She has been quite fortunate in her seven-year journey, receiving numerous genuine compliments on her performance on a regular basis. She learns from constructive criticism, she learns from her co-stars, and she appreciates everyone for their positive traits, although she specifically emphasized a few.
She feels blessed that in the industry she came across talents like Malhar Thakar, Esha Kansara, Diksha Joshi, Janki Bodiwala and many others from all of them she learnt many good things. She strives to improve her abilities and tries to know how others get recognised for their superior abilities.
Change is good
She believes that changes are beneficial. In her perspective, OTT provides more opportunities for young artists and believes that it has become an old notion that you have to go to Mumbai if you want to have a career in the entertainment sector, but this is becoming easier thanks to OTT and current platforms. She is pleased that Ahmedabad now has several good entertainment companies. However, she believes that modernisation and the proliferation of channels should not be used to undermine the importance of basic and fundamental notions of acting, such as theatre plays. She prefers to see things balanced between the core and root concepts of acting, such as theatre plays, and the most recent concept, OTT. She enjoys viewing Instagram reels and is a lover of the platform, but she has never thought of reels as entertainment or art.
Netri’s college days and beginning of her passion
She had always wanted to study English literature, and she did so at St. Xavier’s College in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Her ambition was to pursue a career in the media industry, which she accomplished through an internship in filmmaking and writing. She has also completed her PhD while working on acting assignments and is awaiting her degree. She is curious and always ready to learn new things she learned how to editing works, how to add music, and many things related to her field other than acting. She used to sit behind the director since she was intrigued about how the director worked.
