Dr. Mitali Jani, a Physiotherapist by profession is now a stepping ladder of success as an owner of multiple ventures in the entertainment industry and she is renowned Indo-Canadian RJ since the year 2008 in Canada. Her passion for art began at the age of 3 years in India when she had an opportunity to act in a couple of TV soaps in Door Darshan TV channel.
As an entrepreneur of her two ventures Harmony TV show and Millennia films, Mitali is the only Gujarati new media producer based in Edmonton, Canada.
Let’s have a glance at the journey of Dr. Mitali and her passion for working in the entertainment film industry, TV shows and other events and media productions, and a lot of other work which she can do in front of the camera, live audience or behind the stage and limelight.
How her journey began,
Mitali Jani is born and brought up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in a middle-class family. Her father was a journalist and her mother was a teacher. At the age of 3, Mitali started acting in her father’s TV shows broadcasting on Door Darshan. She had blood running of an M.A. B.Ed, journalist and a production executive father and B.A B. Ed. With a diploma in Drama honored mother who always supported her with extra-curriculum activities like classical singing, dancing, skating, swimming, karate and many more. Her mother had an eye for entertainment through her father Lt Mr. Sharad Shukla who was a re-known classical dance choreographer of his time in the Hindi film industry, he was the one who taught Bharatanatyam to the great veteran Helen. Mitali wished to explore the industry at an early age although, her parents wanted her to finish her graduation first. Along with her bachelor in Computers, she co-graduated in Physiotherapy since paramedical was in the boom at that time.
She has completed her physiotherapy studies from GG University, Chhatisgadh and become a physiotherapist in the year 2007.
She joined Akashwani, Ahmedabad (All India Radio) at the age of 18 as a casual announcer, where she worked for two years. She enjoyed doing live broadcasting along with her studies as it was her passion.
Life got a new turn when she decided to get married and soon she moved to Canada as an Immigrant. She pursued her career as a radio jockey in Canada since 2008 for almost 11 years. This makes her the only Indian radio Jockey ever worked internationally representing Indian arts and culture. She was a celebrity host of her town and still hosting community events and cultural shows to support emerging talent in Canada.
She believes that everyone shall follow their passion but not at the cost of family and cultural values. For her, family comes first. She was a passionate Radio Jockey and a pure Gujarati working as an RJ in Canada. She was blessed with a baby boy in 2011, despite her brand new baby she managed her early morning shift from 5 am to 11 am and happily performed her duties.
Giving a good start to something always a difficult task for anybody. Starting her ventures in an immigrant country was not that easy. But her passion for art and being in front of the camera have made that easy for her. In the year 2013, she started a TV show named Harmony TV for Asian Television Network with her father and a business partner who was editor in chief of a newspaper named Yash Pal Sharma. She has hosted “Videsi star singing competition” in Canada in 2014 and in 2018.
It is said that when you have a family as your backbone you can achieve anything in your life. And she is blessed by a supportive family. The name, Harmony TV was the suggestion of her mother. Her father was about to get retirement from Door Darshan. During his Canada visits, he used to help Mitali with her work. In 2015, she was blessed with another baby. Now, this Mompreneur and RJ-Mitali have more responsibility for family also, but she was a hard-working woman. Her kids are her strength, they have flown six countries and many more destinations with her as she pursues her blogging and influencing career, as an entrepreneur. She loves to write, as a content creator she creates stories on her Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and blogsite. She also manages social media pages of her non-profit organization Helping Hands for Humanity center. She is constantly thriving leadership and teaching management skills to people who are willing to learn social media skills. She calls herself, a new media specialist.
In the year, 2017 she started her production work under which she has produced short films, albums, and other projects. Recently she got her first movie rights for Canada releases for Dhunki movie. The sky has again opened up clouds of immense opportunities, she is pursuing her very first Indo-Canadian film and a couple of more projects like web-series and a music video.
Her mom says she is a good singer, just never had time to pursue singing professionally so she started NGO to support emerging artists in Canada. They also, help illiterate women by helping to build small businesses in India
