Education and Social service is a combination that is a winner always. It’s a beautiful union of the mind and heart. Mrs. Nita H. Shah is a perfect example of the same.
Born to Haribhai AmulakhBhai Shah and Vasantben HariBhai Shah, Nita was an intelligent child. Studies were never on the back burner for this family, a priority in life and a must for growth. She completed her BSC, M.ed as she was sure she wanted to be associated with the Education related arena in the country.
Risen from a Jr. Clerk to the Principal of Amulakh Vidhyalay. An inspiring climb for any aspiring individual. Having begun her career in 1985 as a Jr. Clerk in Adarsh Kanya Vidhyalya,Gujrat she was there till 1992. A moved on to become a teacher / in-charge Principal in the year 1992 at Sheth Amulakh Vidhyalay. Handling responsibilities of a faculty and the desk of a Principal gave her the insight to actually handling students from a teacher’s perspective. Learning and growing with the students every day. Grasping knowledge from day to day experiences and implementing them in the best possible manner gave her the confidence to thereafter take over as the Principal of the same Vidhyalay ( Sheth Amulakh Vidhyay) in the year 1996.
The varied responsibilities as the Principal involved her interaction with faculty, management, student bodies and the state at various levels. A macro view of her roles put, in a nutshell, is not easy. It’s not easy to encompass all of it but a gist of the gamut of responsibilities could be capsuled as follows:
The course of GSEB, ensuring co-curricular Activities for students viz Moral education, Skill Development, and Motivation. Liaising with Govt. organization, sharing expertise on her core strength – Mathematics, designing and implementing programs with positive results, leading a School Development Complex for over 450 schools in Anand District and last but not the least getting students aware about the various services that work in the city for ensuring proper law and order, science education, environment conservation, etc. Few of the organizations that were part of this learning were as follows -:
Science city, CSC, Nehru Foundation, Gir Foundation, ATL Lab, Oasis Institute, RTO, NCC, NSS ECO Club, Space Club, Energy Saving Club, Association with police stations in the locality.
Besides, day to day functions of the school, she had plans for every year and also a long term (5 year) plan that worked well for the School then and in the way forward.
A vision for the establishment and the students towards a progressive future. Achieving 100% results in the 10th and 12th Boards, ensuring there are zero dropouts, especially of the girl students, getting the school equipped keeping present-day needs in focus. Infrastructure, laboratory and sports material. Encouraging sports for students to reach national levels. Research in an integral part of science, she ensured a conducive environment for the same and setting up dialogue and action to encourage social service and also for students to join the armed forces – Army, Navy, and Airforce. Gujarat, the state in our country that has the best of businessmen and as of today our Prime Minister is from the wonderful state, has plenty of little intelligent minds that are slated to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs. Ensuring they are skill trained so as to one day make a mark in the business scenario of the state and country.
Award and rewards are the by-products of good work. They are never the end goal, but just a milestone reminding us that the journey is long ahead. Mrs. Nita Shah has won many awards, but she has a long road ahead, spreading her knowledge and making a difference to many lives.
Mrs. Nita was awarded for Road Safety Awareness Program in the school category from State Government of Transport Minister Mr. Faldu. Environment & Forest Ministry in Eco Fair for Best Eco Stall and awarded the Second Rank for Collection of Soldiers’ Fund of Rs. 1,23,006/- in Ahmedabad District.
To sum it up, when hard work, perseverance, and motivation are the ingredients the product the emerges just has to be the perfect blend. Mrs. Nita H Shah is an inspirational entity that each one of us has to admire and follow to stay inspired and motivated.
