Schooling days are those days where we build strong bases for a bright career. Choosing such a career path in which you will enjoy your work will be the best. There is no gain without pain is applicable in the case of Ankit Desai too.
Students of science studies generally think about career in engineering or medical field but Ankit decided to pursue career into the writing field. Ankit was all set to pursue his career for his passion of writing with his science studies. He felt that engineering and pharmacy might need more efforts compared to B.Sc. Chemistry. He has decided to pursue B.Sc. Chemistry and started taking writing assignments too.
Initial days
Ankit Desai is 90s kid belongs to middle class family of the Vapi, Gujarat. His father has worked in the Gujarat Police Department for almost four decades. Ankit got mindset of working for the honesty, passion and reputation in the heredity.
After completion of his science graduations, he took admission into the mass communication studies. Ankit was asked to opt higher studies in chemistry only but he himself was confident enough to shape his career plan in the field of writing though it was full of challenges. It’s never easy to stick to such decision without good support. Ankit is lucky to have his parents with his decision of pursing career for his chosen field.
How he started his career as a journalist
First job is always special for everyone and it becomes very special when you are into the field of your passion. Ankit still remembers that day full of excitement and happiness of joining his first job. In April 2013, Ankit completed his Mass Communication studies and joined Gujarat Guardian in the May 2013.
In the initial days of his career in the journalism field Ankit decided that he wants to go into the print media. Today, he is feeling lucky and blessed to get chance to work in the full-fledge journalism field.
He has started his journey as an intern for “Radio Mirchi” and “Gujarat Mitra”. Later on, he worked with “Gujarat Guardian”, “Mumbai Samachar”, “Sandesh Newspaper “,“Cocktail Zindagi”,”Phulchhab”, “Khabarchhe.com” to name a few.
Ankit is fortunate to have mentors like Aashu Patel, Saurabh Shah, Krishnakant Unadkat and Jyoti Unadkat who not only mentored but make professional journalism journey full of learning, excitement and meaningful.
Second Inning of the career
In 2019, Ankit took crucial decision of full-time freelance journalism. He accepted challenges to write targeted articles.
Ankit got enough space earlier to settle as a career in journalism. Later on, he has to think about financial stability. He did the same by accepting new and challenging yet rewarding field and assignments.
Unforgettable Moment
In the beginning of 2019 when Ankit stepped into innovative field – Brand strategist and Image Building consulting, he was supported by his family members specially his wife contributed economically, emotionally and socially too.
Besides his regular work as a brand strategist and image building consultant, he works as a freelance journalist. He writes six columns a week for many reputed media houses like Mumbai Samachar, Phulchhab. Ankit got lots of assignments but close to his hearts the assignment of writing about holy scripture – Bhagwat Geeta and Mahabharat.
In very short time of his career Ankit started getting recognition as a good writer and journalist. Many organizers are inviting Ankit to deliver expert talks and as a chief guest too. Recently, Ankit delivered expert session in the Gujarat Literature Festival too.
