Ankita’s Journey: The Singer with a Melodious Heart
Ankita’s love for music blossomed during her childhood. As a young girl, she’d listen to songs, hum melodies while going about her household chores, and even emulate artists’ styles. Her melodious voice soon gained her recognition as the darling of her community. During vacations, her neighbors would pine for her enchanting tunes.
However, her journey wasn’t devoid of challenges. Ankita’s vision problems led her to undergo ceragem treatment during her school years. One fateful day, during a waiting period at the clinic, she sang a song. The audience was spellbound by her talent, leading to her first encounter with the magic of a live performance. This early boost to her confidence inspired her to pursue her dream further.
But Ankita’s road to recognition was not without its share of hardships. Her vision impairments initially stonewalled her efforts to participate in music competitions. Her requests were met with rejection until a counselor recognized her talent and offered her a chance. This breakthrough was a turning point.
Ankita’s talent flourished, and she later founded “Soulful Saturday,” a karaoke club that started with six members and now boasts over 300. Later she has started ” Vasai Karaoke Club” where she met two angels Hiren Kelavala and Ranjan Sutariya who became her financial support in her trainings too. With dreams of performing in Indian films, Ankita is a beacon of hope for those who dare to chase their ambitions.

Arjun’s journey was marked by vision problems and cataracts, leading to a series of surgeries that began when he was a mere 19 days old. This tumultuous start made traditional schooling a challenge. Yet, Arjun’s love for music and his family’s unwavering support carved an alternative path. Through Ayurvedic healing, guided by his mother, who ventured into naturopathy, Arjun found a unique way to thrive.
Childhood weddings were a particular delight for Arjun, offering him the chance to be close to the bands and learn more about musical instruments. He cherished the experience of attending weddings, immersing himself in the melodies, and spending time with the orchestra.
Arjun began formal music training under Bhupendra Barot, Pankaj Pathak in 2005 and continued until 2008, later he learnt from Priyen Shah and took his Visarad trainings. His journey with technology and software, often a formidable challenge for those with vision impairments, became more manageable with time.
Ankita’s story unfolds in Dhoraji, Gujarat, where she was born and raised before moving to Mumbai. Her vision problems began in the sixth grade, becoming progressively worse. By the time she reached the twelfth grade, she had to give up her formal education because her vision no longer allowed her to see the blackboard clearly. She recalls classmates speaking loudly and writing notes from the board, which she’d listen to and note down. Unfortunately, her family’s financial condition couldn’t afford a personal tutor.
Her father, a diamond polisher, and her mother, a homemaker, managed the family’s finances through handicraft work. Ankita’s mother’s unyielding support was a constant presence in her musical pursuits. She accompanied Ankita to music-related events, engaging in her handicrafts while Ankita practiced. Her mother’s love for music and her own songs inspired Ankita. She drew inspiration from legendary playback singers, learning the art of versatile singing from Asha Bhosle, the grace of Lata Mangeshkar, and Shreya Ghoshal’s flawless renditions.
Ankita’s commitment and talent earned her financial support from a group, which enabled her to pursue her musical training. With her marriage, she became part of a music academy with her husband, initially resisting the idea of teaching music, fearing it might strain her voice. However, her role as a music coach has been a joy, transforming the behavior and lives of her students.
Arjun completed his Visarada, and Ankita achieved her Visarada from Guru Pandit Kumar and Nainesh Thakor. Their journey, spanning nearly two decades, includes a decade of guiding aspiring musicians at their music school.

Arjun and Ankita are passionate about their work, primarily focusing on training in Tabla, Guitar, Kyeboard, Harmonium, Drum, and vocals for their students at “Rhythamonic Music Academy & Studio”.
