Piya Pawani was born in 1985 on August 18 in Chennai. She lived in Pondicherry, the beautiful French colonial settlement until the age of 10. Piya’s family moved to Dubai where she grew up and is currently living in Muscat. Piya was blessed with both Indian and overseas exposure as a child. Mr. V Prakash ,Piya’s father was Manager Warehouse & Logistics and her mother Ramaa home maker.
Education & world exposure
Schooled in Dubai’s Our own English High School. Her under graduation was from the American College of Dubai which is affiliated with Southern New Hampshire . Her major subjects were Marketing & Finance and minor in Psychology. She is an honor holder – Magna Cum Laude. Indeed a great milestone at that stage. She came back to India to complete her masters in Finance & Marketing with the Manipal Academy of Higher education. She can boast of having scored a 3.98 GPA !
Chance drops by!
Piya believes that she got into this field by sheer fluke. A chance meeting with a photographer in Muscat, who egged here to try corporate modeling, was the beginning. Since she had done a bit of modeling in Dubai she decided to give it a shot and in time she fell in love with it, and this love evolved as a profession
Struggle and challenges – Life’s flavours
Growth that comes glazed with struggles and challenges hone our skills further towards achieving goals. A strong willpower to face them head-on with complete confidence are truly the tools that never falter. Piya was in a new country and building a network was not easy. She had to literally begin from ground zero. Competing with existing players in the field, look out for talented photographers and artists who would lay their bets on a new person, besides getting around the best way to convince them to take her onboard was an uphill task. Using social media and the traditional personal contacts / word of mouth worked for Piya Pawani. In around 8 months an agency signed her up for project and since then there was no looking back.
In an industry such as modeling or the glamour related world there are other aspects that play a role both negative and positive. Piya had to deal with issues like her skin color, height, perception of flawless beauty which as we know is very relative and the picture perfect “model” look. Piya had it in her to filter those she wanted to work with and those she wanted to shun. It was but obvious that those who appreciated her talent and capabilities were the ones she connected with at every level. Getting to know them personally just made things easier for her and beauty was not the most prime. When synchronization is basically strong, many more goals are achieved, collaborations sealed and appreciations make their way inwards in a big way. Contests and Stage events
In 2018, Piya took part in the Mrs. India – Empress of the Nation contest. Here again there were so many obstacles from critiques and society. There were many “whys” and reasons to be justified on her taking part in this pageant. However, she followed her heart and emerged among the top 3 . This was because of her sheer will and perseverance. The next was the La Femme Worldwide 2019.
The critiques and those who want to pull you down were always around. Piya had made up her mind and put her heart and soul into new learning and wanted to prove herself especially when pitted against. She thrived swimming against the waves only to emerge with greater success. Piya had her family support throughout hence she was in a position to stretch herself to limits that even she was not aware of. Distractions and diversions were not for her. A path chosen just had to be followed in full earnest come what may.
Supporters, role models and inspirations plenty
Piya’s parents were her pillar of strength and support. She looks for role models in every good person she meets. It could be a kid to a 90 year old person. There is something in each one to learn and imbibe in this journey. Piya Pawani is of the opinion that everyone who has helped her in her life, work, learning and achievements are her inspiration and motivation to achieve more in life. Mother Teresa definitely comes on the top of her list for her warmth and unconditional love she spread in her lifetime for the underprivileged and poor. Loving an unknown who is sick , desolate and isolated is the toughest form of service.

Message and belief
We don’t need to hold placards and write slogans on issues close to our heart. It’s important to practice what you preach and bury hypocrisy for good. Piya Pawani goes by the philosophy of getting back what you give, which is in reality “Karma” in every way. She has being connecting with aspiring models and women who have an inclination to get into the glamour field but need an experienced mind and a genuine heart to guide them. Piya, rather be a person who is a doer than just someone who preaches. She will forever follow her beliefs and stay dedicated to her work. She would like to be the Queen who fixes another’s crown than ensure she holds on to her crown eternally.
Her message – Live and let live. Life is a one take show and it’s very short. One must do ones best, be honest and live a good life, besides enabling others to live their own.
