Sairam Dave was born on 7th February, 1977 in Amarnagar, Jetpur, Gujarat. His parents are now both retired, they were teachers. His father was also an ancient palmist holds great knowledge in this field. Academically inclined parents and an atmosphere of books and learning at home, Sairam too completed his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Rajkot and then a degree in Primary Education (P.T.C) at District Education Training Bhavan, Amreli. Sairam has two brothers Kishan and Amit. Sairam married Zankhana ( Deepali ) Trivedi in 2001 and are blessed with two children Dhruv and Dharmaraj .
Life’s calling in laughter
Humor in life is important to ensure this journey of life goes through smoothly. Sairam was born a humorist who is capable of refreshing the day with his wit and humor. Besides he is a Principal of a primary school in Gondal and a poet. Words and verses come naturally to him and when he sprinkles humor it just becomes a wonderful interaction anytime of the day.
Inspiration from home
Inspiration came from his father who was a teacher and an artist. His father wanted him to continue the legacy of entertaining people and adding joy and laughter to their lives by way of music, art and knowledge. Sairam followed his footsteps beautifully! Support and inspiration for him was from the home turf. His parents and friends supported him through thick and thin.
The journey begins!
He began in the year 1997 with a small audience and nominal charges. From the years 1997 to 2000 ( early years) was a period of struggle as it is in most professions. Recognition during this period was hard to come by. He was lucky and got a Govt. Job as a school teacher after completing his PTC in 1998. Simultaneously he used to give small shows too as an artist. His first charge was an amount of Rs. 151/-
He worked as a teacher for almost 15 years until 2013. However, in 2000 he also started working as an artist in “Akashwani” and “Doordarshan” as a B-high grade artist. The ball started rolling from there on. “ Jalaram Jivan darshan” was his first audio cassette followed by “Chaman Banega Crorepati”. In the year 2001 Sairam got famous with the release of a successful audio album and the same year he did programs with other renowned artists in Gujarat.
Sairam’s first international tour was to Dubai for three weeks and a big milestone in his professional career.
Sairam had a period when he would do around 20 events a month as a guest artist, while holding the govt. job as a teacher. A dream he always had slowly started turning to reality. Till the year 2000 he was not in the foreground and was not in anyway highlighted in this arena. His father’s advise was “have patience” and stay “original”
Awards and achievements and accomplishments.
Sairam has approximately 60 plus albums and 450 plus program videos to his credit. In the year 2007 He was also honored Gujarat Gaurav Puraskar by Government of Gujarat. In 2015 he became the founder of Nachiketa schooling system in Rajkot. 2017- Glory of Gujarat award , 2018 – Gem of Gujarat award was part of the many honours.
Hobbies and interests
His hobbies are Music which he grew up with,Religious art and education. His profession as a teacher helped him develop these further.
Changes and improvements to grow
Sairam Dave started the Nachiketa School which was not an ordinary school It believed in concept-based education, and was holistic in nature. The format gave importance to all as aspects of life, specifically guided with music and drama.
Tagline of Nachiketa School is “Education is Celebration”. This celebration starts from birth and goes on for the entire life. That’s the philosophy he spreads through his wonderful platform of education.
Some positive experiments from the traditional Learning like Yagna, Panchtatva- Prayer, Project Gujarat-know your Culture, Life skills, Singing Bells for the love of music, Enjoy Exam through Dance, Welcome and play for toddlers works as a vision board to lead a life filled with positive energies.
Education system needs to convey a message of – Science and spirituality together with patriotism. An amalgamation of them is what growing minds should be nurtured with.
Success or Satisfaction
Laughter and smiles from audience give Sairam Dave immense satisfaction. Making people happy during low times and tense times and bringing positive changes in lives of others is and always will be his goal.
Message to others
Dream big and work hard to achieve it, it’s never impossible to fulfill your dreams. Dreams are like drafts and once hard work and perseverance is added it becomes a concrete goal.
Message to youngsters- live in real world rather than virtual world, have few close friends on whom you can count on in life.
Future plans
New experiments in the field of art and education, so as to bring about positive changes and making education interesting and not a ritual to follow blindly. Sairam Dave also wants to build a school or University to groom, guide new aspiring artists and give them a helping hand to climb the ladder in the right way.
